Precision Turbo April 2007 Report 05-03-2007 |
|
Precision Turbo customers continued to find their way into the Winner's Circle in April in a wide variety of racing venues.
In NHRA SC Modified at Virginia, Ken Scheepers ran the quickest time in the history of the class with a 7.27 at 186.27. That's also the quickest and fastest time ever for a two rotor rotary engine. Precision Turbo customer and defending national champion Paul Efantis was a close second with a 7.32, but Scheepers would not be denied as he claimed his second consecutive victory of the young season. Pro RWD driver Brad Personett tied the series lead for the most victories with his 15th win over Gary White while Kenny Tran won in Hot Rod over national record holder Stephanie Eggum.
In Oklahoma, Kevin Hargett was the low qualifier in Clash of the Titans Outlaw 10.5, but it was Brian Carpenter in the Winner's Circle for his first win of the season and the early series point's lead.
In NHRA Comp Eliminator, John Mihovetz reset the AA/AT national ET record with a strong 6.55 elapsed time, which beat the old 6.61 record he had. Jim Weins already had the speed record with a 211.21 which was set last October. During the last weekend of April, Mihovetz also won on the PSCA tour with a victory in Pro Street.
In the NOPI series, Manny Cruz, Brad Personett and John Mihovetz are 1-2-3 in the Pro category points standings with several other Precision customers having made their presence known also. Dan Millen is also second in Pro Outlaw RWD points while Kenny Tran is second in the Pro 4 Cyl. class.
Finally, Robby Unser from Enjuku Racing finished 4th at the NOPI Drift event in Miami. Team Enjuku has 4 drivers competing in this series as well as in SCCA Formula D series drift. Congrats to everyone for a great April! |
