Racing News From Coast To Coast

Precision Turbo customers (including ones using the latest Boosted Technology turbos, ask your sales representative for details) continued to find their way into the Winner's Circle in July in a variety of racing venues.

In NOPI Pro Drift action held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania July 28-29, Bill Sherman of Enjuku Racing extended his points lead in his bid for a championship. Bill qualified in the top spot with a score of 91.5, and went on to win the event over Brian Wilkerson.

Earlier in the month, NOPI held a drag racing event in Milan, Michigan where numerous Precision Turbo customers found great success. In their PRO category, Brad Personett continued his winning ways as he won the event with a 7.3450 @ 209.57 over fellow Precision customer and number one qualifier Dan Saitz. Saitz qualified with a 6.5496 @ 222.18 powered by a pair of Precision prepped 88mm turbos. In Pro Outlaw RWD, Dan Millen took the win light in his familiar white Mustang running a 7.0549 @ 212.47 over Rob Golobo with a 7.1782 @ 203.38. Gary Gardella qualified number 1, and took out rival Jason Hunt in the finals of Pro Outlaw FWD, running one of Precision's Boosted Technology turbochargers. Stephanie Eggum also benefited from the power of a Precision Boosted Technology turbocharger, as she went on to win the Pro 4 Cylinder class.

In mid July, the NHRA Sport Compact series ventured out west to do battle in Las Vegas. Although the temperatures were well into triple digits, Precision Turbo customers stayed cool as they continued to show their dominance in NHRA competition. In PRO RWD, Gary White drove the Titan Motorsports 2006 Scion TC to the winners circle over teammate Brad Personett. In Modified action, defending 2006 Modified champion Paul Efantis was the runner-up, running a 7.523 @ 181.89. In Hot Rod, Stephanie Eggum defeated Kenny Tran in the finals, to earn her third win in a row, and secure a twenty-four point lead over Tran in the Hot Rod point standings. In other action, Kevin Van Natten was the runner-up in Sport FWD, and Texan Charles Perry was the runner-up in Quick 16.

Back in the Midwest, another storm was brewing. The second annual NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Drag Racing rolled into Joliet, Illinois, bringing in hundreds of racecars and thousands of spectators. After a recent rule revision change, NMRA Drag Radial competitor and Precision Turbo customer John Kolivas refined his turbocharged combination, and was rewarded with a win over fellow Precision customer Kevin Fiscus. In NMCA Street Race, defending champ Tim Meagher took the win light with a 9.121 @ 147.96. Other notables from the weekend were runner-up Ray Johnson in the NMRA Truck and Lightning class and runner-up Jim Monson in NMCA Super Street.

Five hours away in Norwalk, Ohio, Fun Ford held their annual Buckeye State Nationals, and Precision Turbo customers continued to dominate the Street Outlaw class. Tim Lynch qualified number one with a 6.807 @ 214.45 and marched on to victory defeating Jimmy Keen in the finals. Lynch is currently leading the points chase in the hotly contested Precision Turbo Street Outlaw class.

In NSCA action held up in Martin, Michigan, Rob Golobo, driving his beautiful orange Camaro, got the win in Super Street with a 7.33 @ 200.76 over Rocky Dilecce with 7.42 @ 199.04. Golobo runs a pair of Precision prepped 88mm turbochargers and is always a force to be reckoned with when lined up against on race day.

On July 7-8, ORSCA action was hot and heavy down in Atlanta. In EZ Street, Shane Stack qualified number one with a 4.938 @ 152.61 in his drag radial equipped Monte Carlo. The ever dangerous Jimmy Blackmon was the runner-up in Outlaw 10.5W action. Look for Jimmy to sort out his combination and be at the forefront of contenders at the end of the year in ORSCA.
