Precision Turbo customers (including ones using the latest Boosted Technology turbos) continued to find their way into the Winner's Circle in August in a variety of racing venues.

On the weekend of August 18-19, 2007, the historic O'Reilly Raceway Parkway in Indianapolis, Indiana was the spot for the inaugural Indy NHRA Sport Compact Nationals, and it was a stellar weekend for Precision Turbo customers. In Pro RWD action, Brad Personett continued to dominate taking out Boris Rojas in the finals running 7.029 @ 207.46. This is fourth win in six NHRA SC events for Brad and the Titan Motorsports Scion. Gary Gardella captured his first Pro FWD win of the year, taking out Marty Ladwig with a blistering 7.344 @ 198.96 to a 7.509 @ 197.54. Watch for Gardella (who runs one of our Boosted Technology turbos) to continue his winning ways in NHRA Sport Compact. Stephanie Eggum overcame engine troubles earlier in the week during testing to win Hot Rod over Kenny Tran. Eggum ran a 7.958 @ 183.79 to extend her points lead by forty-three points over Tran.

NOPI Drag Racing Association competitors had a busy August, with races in both Epping, New Hampshire and Budds Creek, Maryland. On August 4-5 in Epping, Precision Turbo customers Dan Millen and Gary Gardella proceeded to lay the smack down on their competition in their respective classes. In Pro Outlaw RWD, Dan Millen in his familiar white Mustang took out Paul Major in the finals with a 7.184 @ 176.79 to a 8.431 @ 167.18. Millen has a firm lead in the points standings over Jim Blair and should be able to lockup the championship. In Pro Outlaw FWD, Gary Gardella got the win light with a jaw-dropping 7.401 @ 202.03 over Jason Hunt, who ran a 7.599 @ 199.05. At the end of August, NDRA held a race down in Budds Creek, Maryland and in the Pro 4 Cylinder class, it was the Kenny Tran show. Tran qualified number 1 with a 8.186 @ 177.44 and was consistently running low eight second ET's as he took out his competition, eventually beating Steve Merman in the finals.

On August 11-12, the NMRA rolled into Atco, New Jersey and saw Precision Turbo customers Yanni Papakosmos, John Kolivas, and Chris Tuten make their way to the final round. In Super Street Outlaw, Yanni Papakosmos made his way to a runner-up finish by running a best of 7.70 @ 195 among his string of 7.7X passes. John Kolivas made his way to the winner’s circle in Drag Radial. Kolivas ran a best of 8.09 @ 176 over the weekend and took out fellow Precision customer Chris Tuten in the finals.

At NMCA event held in Milan, Michigan a storm was brewing, literally. Competitors were only able to get in one round of qualifying before the rain eventually forced officials to cancel the race. That lone round saw Mike Fratena make the first eight second pass in the Street Race class history with a 8.99 @ 153. Rob Golobo qualified number one in Super Street with his beautiful orange Camaro, running a 6.94 @ 209.

The team of Tim Lynch and Steve Petty made waves at the Bristol, Tennessee Fun Ford Weekend event. After qualifying number one in the Precision Turbo sponsored Street Outlaw class with a 6.86 @ 217, they went on to win the event with a string of six second passes, including a 6.80 @ 210 blast to set a new record. Eventual runner up in the class, Jimmy Keen, also had a good outing qualifying number two and making his way through the other half of the ladder to meet Lynch in the finals.

Because of an earlier rainout, ORSCA held a makeup race at Carolina Dragway on August 25-26, 2007 and Precision Turbo customers reigned supreme. The race was called after the semifinal round, but it had the potential to be all Precision final in both Outlaw 10.5W and Limited Street. Eric Dillard and Keith Szabo were paired up on opposite sides on the ladder in Limited Street, and Tim Lynch and Jimmy Blackmon in Outlaw 10.5W. With Precision customers running so well at this event, the next event in Huntsville should be interesting to say the least.
